![]() ![]() I definitely would recommend the Uniden Bearcat 980 ssb. They drift until they warm up and that can take 30 - 45 minutes. My experience with Galaxy radios (on SSB) is some of them are not stable on SSB. ![]() Wi 544 wrote:you want a rock solid no bs radio get the optima mk3, the galaxy are great on am, but are not stable at all on ssb and after you buy the radio you need to have it tuned up and the clarifier unlocked if your going to even try and use it on ssb and channel mod done if you want more, the optima comes with the clarifier unlocked, fan on the heatsink, no tune up needed(am mod pot can be turned up by anyone), freeband mode if you want all the channels, the optima has been my go to radio in the mobile for 2 yrs now and trust me I have tried other cb's and exports, get a mk3 with a icom hm36(japan) mic and your set, if your going to use am you can turn up the am mod pot and they really work well on am also, there are many of these radios out there, I here more and more on the band, one thing you wont see is the optima radios for sale used? everyone keeps them,
